Mary Ann Adams,
59, nurse’s aide
Mary Ann Elizabeth Adams of Wilton and Meherrin, Va.,
a former Ridgefielder who had been a nurse’s aide and an EMT, died this week in
late May 2005 after a brief illness. She was 59 years old.
Ms. Adams was born on Sept. 27, 1945, in Brooklyn,
N.Y., the eldest daughter of Edward and Claire Adams of Wilton.
She was a certified nurse’s aide in Amelia, Va., and
at the Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Va., and a nurse’s aide and
home health aide for VNA Nursing & Home Care at Mid-Fairfield Hospice in
Connecticut.
She worked in the parish churches of Saint Casimir’s
and Saint Stanislaus in Brooklyn, N.Y. She had been an EMT volunteer with the
Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Service and a volunteer at Mid-Fairfield County
Hospice and Bread and Roses, an AIDS shelter in Georgetown.
Ms. Adams is survived by seven brothers and sisters,
Claire Mignon Theune of Meherrin, Gregory Matthew Adams of Corona del Mar,
Calif., Laura Ellen Halloran of Ridgefield, Mark Edward Adams of Forest Hills,
N.Y., Kenneth Robert Adams of Forest Hills, Ellen Lisabeth Romer of Redding,
and Jennifer Jean Clark of Pasadena, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of
Fatima Church in Wilton on Tuesday, June 7, at 10.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.
