Yolanda Allegretti, 99, owned dress firm

Yolanda Allegretti, a longtime resident of Westchester County who once lived in Ridgefield, died Thursday, March 14. She was 99 years old.
Mrs. Allegretti was born on Oct. 9, 1902 in Amendolari, Italy, a daughter of the late Nicholas Barletta and Gianna Batista Barlena. Her father was a pharmacist in Italy. She arrived in the United States on April 19, 1916 at the age of 13.
Mrs. Allegretti started to work in the garment industry at the age of 15 and was the founder of Yolanda Dress Company, which manufactured dresses for leading retail outlets. She retired in 1967 and she and her husband, the late Vincenzo Allegretti, moved to Hollywood, Fla.
After the death of her husband she returned to live with her son Enzo Allegretti and daughter-in-law Antoinette Allegretti of Katonah, N.Y.
Besides her son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Allegretti is survived by two granddaughters, Regina Allegretti-Davenport of Katonah, and Gioia Allegretti of Palo Alto, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
Her daughter Joyce Allegretti, one sister and seven brothers died before her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at St. Mary’s Church in Katonah.
Friends may send donations in her name to Westchester Community College Foundation.
Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah was in charge of arrangements.
