Arthur Appert, World War II captain, June 17

Arthur A. Appert Jr. of Stamford, formerly of Ridgefield, died on June 17 after a short illness. 
He was born July 25, 1923 in New Jersey to the late Arthur and Loretta Keidel Appert. He was a graduate of the Canterbury School, Princeton University, and Harvard University School of Business. He also was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army as a captain. 
He is survived by his children, Christine of Virginia, Arthur of Pennsylvania, Kevin of California, Stephanie of Norwalk, and David of Georgia and Denise McGraw of New York, and his grandchildren Laura, Stephen, Andrew, and Nicholas Appert, and Megan and Melanie McGraw. 
Private services were handled by the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home of Stamford.
