Michael M. Barber, 47, cabinetmaker

Michael M. Barber of 284 Black Rock Turnpike, Redding, a cabinetmaker and former Ridgefielder, died on Saturday afternoon, March 16, at his home. He was 47 years old and the husband of Donna E. Wagner Barber.
Mr. Barber was born in Evanston, Ill., on Jan. 10, 1955, a son of the late Howard M. and Ann Hinternhoff Barber. He had lived in the area for 33 years, moving to Wilton from North Carolina when he was a teenager. He was a 1973 graduate of Wilton High School.
A self-employed cabinetmaker, Mr. Barber had lived in Ridgefield for 20 years and had built his family home on Catoonah Street. He had lived in Redding for the past seven years.
Besides his wife of 20 years, he is survived by two children: Matthew Barber and Hannah Barber, both of Redding; two brothers: Jeffrey Barber of Shelby, Ala., and Keith Barber of Algonquin, Ill.; three nieces: Katie Conroy, Sarah Conroy and Kelly Barber; and a nephew: Eric Barber.
The Rev. Dean Ahlberg will lead a memorial service on Thursday at 2 in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, Cross Highway, Redding.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ Building Fund.
The Kane Funeral Home 41 Catoonah Street Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
