Dorothy L. Beebe, 86, volunteer
Dorothy Dot Leonhard Beebe of 25 Gilbert Street, who had been an active volunteer here, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Laurel Ridge Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center. She was 86 and widow of George E. Beebe.
Mrs. Beebe was born in Flushing, N.Y. on Aug. 6, 1915. She and her husband had lived on Long Island for many years before they moved to North Salem Road in 1972. Mr. Beebe died two years later.
Mrs. Beebe moved to Ballard Green in 1980 and was active in the OWLS. She had been a volunteer at the town Bloodmobiles for many years and had also been a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Mrs. Beebe had been an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers, and had had a collection that spanned many years.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Myra J. McCorkendale of Stanley, Kans., a niece, Annette Steuber and a nephew Robert Goodloe, both of Kansas.
Services will take place Monday in the First Congregational Church. Call the Kane Funeral Home at 438-6597 for the time.
Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.
