Isabel F. Brooks of Quince Court, wife of Dr. David M. Brooks, died on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 9, at her home. She was 73.
Mrs. Brooks was born in Providence, R.I., July 10, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert and Isabel (Pritchard) Hesketh. She attended schools in Pawtucket, R.I., graduated from the Massachusetts Hospital School of Nursing with a R.N. degree and Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor of arts in psychology. She received nursing training at Massachusetts General Hospital.
A nurse by profession, Mrs. Brooks was associated with various hospitals in the area and was last employed in Health Services of Western Connecticut State University of Danbury.
An area resident for the past 38 years coming from Rhode Island, she attended the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield.
Survivors besides her husband of 52 years include two sons, David M. Brooks III and his wife Sophie of Winthrop, Maine and Steven J. Brooks and his wife Anna of Ridgefield; a brother, Albert Hesketh of North Carolina and a grandson, Mitchelson Brooks.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. in the First Congregational Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The Kane Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
