Josephine M. Glowinski, homemaker
Josephine M. Glowinski of Bethel, a former longtime Ridgefielder, died Jan. 3 at Filosa Convalescent Home, Danbury. She was 87 years old and the widow of
Joseph Glowinski.
Mrs. Glowinski was born in Jersey City, N.J., Aug. 23, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia Balcerak. She grew up in Greenwich, and later lived in Norwalk before moving to Ashbee lane in 1962. She and her husband, who died in 2000, lived here until around 1981. She had lived in Bethel for the past 20 years.
A homemaker, Mrs. Glowinski enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening.
Mrs. Glowinski is survived by a son, John Glowinski of Ridgefield; three daughters, Marianne Honey of Marthas Vineyard, Geri Soukup of Bethel and Joanne Livesay of Pipersville, Pa.; three sisters, Stell Gedney, Gen Walsh and Cel Heinchon; eight grandchildren, Michael Glowinski, Tammy Rauch, Elizabeth Crocker, Kate Honey, Cory Richards, Jessica Soukup, Rebecca Livesay and R.J. Livesay; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass was celebrated Monday at St. Marys Church in Bethel.
Hull Funeral Service of Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
