W. McLeod, 76, engineer, Army veteran
Daniel W. McLeod, 76, of Ridgefield, husband of Phyllis “Pat” McLeod, died on Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2005 at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. McLeod was born in Brooklyn, New York, October 13, 1928, son of Frank and Margaret (Malone) McLeod. He attended Brooklyn schools and graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
In early years, Mr. McLeod was employed in Philadelphia, PA when he entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War era.
Upon honorable discharge from the US Army, Mr. McLeod joined Norden Systems of Norwalk and retired in 1991 after forty years of service.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past thirty-nine years coming from Stamford, he enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed sailing, skiing, hiking and canoeing. An active member of the Sierra Club, Mr. McLeod served as a trail ranger for the Ridgefield Conservation Commission and was a member of the Snokat Ski Club of Westchester. He was also enjoyed working with computers and the constructing of web sites.
In addition to his wife Pat of thirty-nine years, a son, Christopher S. McLeod of McKinney, TX and Danielle J. McLeod of Denver, CO survive him.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Saturday from 4PM to 6PM.
